Abstract

The process uses a simple water-meter fitted with an adjustable contact which operates when a certain volume has passed through the appts. When the required volume has passed, the meter connects a timing device to a multi-way valve; a preset regeneration time the timer starts the process and arrests it when completed when the circuit is broken; it remains in this position until a further volume has passed through the meter. As regeneration only takes place after a definite volume of water has been used large economies result and the softener gives the ideal yields.
