Abstract

The adhesion between carbon fibres and the resin in which they are imbedded is improved by pretreating the carbon fibres with chlorine and water. The fibres are immersed in chlorine water (to which an organic solvent is pref. added) contg. 2-3g free chlorine/l for 1-10 pref. 2-6 days, and then washed and dried.
