Abstract

Mould fitted with adjacent steam-heated chambers is used to make foamed thermoplastic articles; some of the steam enters article during foaming. Water introduced into the chambers, e.g. for cooling, is evaporated by heaters in the chambers. This obviates need for separate steam supply.
