Abstract
Wall thickness of plastic tube is measured while still hot and soft from extrusion by radioactive emitter and detector housed in counter-balanced head. Head revolves around pipe at constant distance from its outer surface, and is applied against it solely by the force of a light spring, all gravity forces being counter balanced.
