Abstract

Title acid and its salts with bases are radiographic contrast agents, especially useful for examination of the urinary, vascular and cerebro-spiral systems. Prepared by methylation of the corresponding 5-acetamido substituted benzoic acid. The compound has an intracerebral LD50 in mice of 790 mg/kg and has a toxicity twice as low as ioxithalamic acid.
