Abstract

Silicone resins which harden under the action of water, particularly air humidity, contain terminal groups of the structure -SiR'(OR2)2 (in which R' is an alkyl residue, pref. CH3, an aryl residue pref. phenyl, or of the same type as OR2, and OR2 is an alkoxy residue having 1 to 4 C atoms, or the residue (OC2H4)nOR3 in which R3 is alkyl pref. CH3 and n is 1 or 2) which is free from silanols, and has a ratio of R/Si of 0.8 to 1.5, and contains organometallic hardening agents in quantities of 0.1 - 5 % by wt. The hardening agents are preferably dialkyl diacyl tin.
