Abstract
Separation of actinides. A complexing agent (pref. a polyamino-acetic cpd. for the tetravalent elements is added to an acid soln. of the actinides and opt. a salting-out agent. The molar hydrogen-ion concentration is brought to 0.5 - 10-2 This is extracted with an organic soln. of an extracting agent (pref. a trialkylammonium nitrate or an organo-phosphorus cpd.) selective to the trivalent actinides. Method is esp. for separating Pu from transuranic elements, esp. Am and Cm.
