Abstract

Acoustic insulation material for building panels, based on cork granules, comprises a mixture of 7 pbw natural cork granules to 5 pbw of expanded cork granules, obtd. by roasting the natural cork granules at 300-350 degrees C or from crushing scraps from mfe. of plates of expanded cork, and textile fibre. The particles are adhered together with a glue or binder, and may be retained between their walls which can be decorated.
