Abstract
Appts consists of a vertical wet separator with a spray nozzle system for producing a water mist, and a clarifier connecting the wet separator to a unit for the contaminated water, and devices for returning the water to the wet separator. Both the wet separator and the clarifier have an inner cylinder which has an open lower end and is arranged inside an outer jacket so that an inner flow channel inside each inner cylinder, and a surrounding outer flow channel between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder are present in both the wet separator and the clarifier. In the wet separator, the supply line for contaminated gases is on the upper end of the channel surrounding the inner cylinder and in the clarifier the feed line for contaminated water is on the upper end of the channel surrounding the inner cylinder and the outer jacket. Discharge lines for the purified gas and water are on the upper ends of each other channel, and the spray nozzles are arranged vertically above each other in the inner cylinder.
