Abstract

Insulating prefabricated sections for cladding industrial furnaces comprising a layered matrix of refractory or insulating material e.g. 'Sillan', 'Triton', 'Kaowool' (RTMs), covered with a sheet of longitudinally tongued insulator. The layers are transfixed by screw clamps fitted with insulating caps to protect their exposed ends. The sections are joined round the surface of the oven - up to 4 metres in diameter - give a coating resistant up to 1100 degrees C and readily demountable for replacement or inspection.
