Abstract

Mfre. of porous clay for use as an adsorption agent esp. for filtering or colour removal comprises incorporating in the clay a compn. which can be destroyed by heat having holes in the clay body to produce the required texture. the clay can subsequently be ground a d/or compressed etc. without affecting its porosity. Typical additives comprise sawdust, woodflour, starch etc. The porous clay can easily be separated from a liquid, unlike the charcoal used in prior art.
