Abstract

A mixed compound sample is injected onto a column held at a fixed temp. by oven or refrigerator. Coils, supplied from an input controller differentially heat the column in well defined sections to establish temp. gradients along the column to effect optimum separation of components. The coils temps. are matched to the least volatile compound ensuring minium retention time and maximum operational usage.
