Abstract
Particularly applicable to the electrical connections of diaphragm cells, for the electrolysis of aqueous solns. of alkali metal halides, such as in BE674452:70888 and 726,223. The device consists of a vertical conducting plate arranged between two consecutive cells; conducting links are fixed on both sides of the plate, respectively opposite the copper anodes and the copper cathodes of the cells. They are intended to assure the electrical contact between the electrodes and the plate; one of the sides of the latter projects beyond the general alignment of the cells and is fitted with open slits in which to bolt the contacts of a short-circuiter for one of the cells. The conducting links are welded to the plate and their free ends are drilled with openings for bolting to the copper anodes or cathodes of the two consecutive cells. The plate is supported on feet, with an adjustable height, and include an insulating section.
