Abstract
The ferrites CdFe2O4 and CuFe2O4 are prepared by dry mixing oxides, co-crystallising nitrates or co-precipitating hydroxides followed by firing at 850 degrees C in air for 15-20 hrs. Pref. 20-25% of graphite is added to increase conductivity. Cells using cadmium ferrite have a higher capacity for a given discharge potential than those using magnetite or copper ferrite alone.
