Abstract

The fibres are coated with a compn. consisting of an acrylic polymer contg. up to 10 wt. % of a material such as phenyl-beta-naphthylamine or trimethyldihydroquinoline or with a tetrafluoroethylene polymer, and have improved thermal and folding resistance. Pref. the fibres are initially treated with a coupling agent such as an aminosilane to improve the adherence between the fibres and the coating compn.
