Abstract

Chicane baffle separator for gas filtration consists of a set of vertical parallel sheets bent to form sinusoidal folds, the amplitude and peak-to-peak distances of these being such that gas flow paths are formed between them, the gas flowing perpendicularly to the fold direction. Liquid is fed to upper part of space between the baffles and flows as continuous film over both sides of each. Used for air-conditioning units, water supplied helping to lower requirement of humidifier, and being self-cleaning.
