Abstract
Activity of a dehydrogenase with respect to a substance, which can be oxidised by the dehydrogenase in the presence of nicotinamideademine dinucleotide, can be determined by means of a mixture of nicotinamideademine dinucleotide, phenazine methosulphate and a colouring tetrazolium salt, which can react with reduced phenazine methosulphate with the formation of a formazan having a different colouration. Gamma-globulin can be added as a stabilizer. This method is suitable for a rapid, accurate and reproducible determination of dehydrogenases in blood serum and other physiological liquids.
