Abstract

A (pref. gadolinium) converter is placed face-to-face with a microchannel amplifier e.g. having surfaces coated with material having a high 2 degrees emission coeff. in front of a fluorescent screen. Neutron flux requirements is reduced and the elimination of intermediate photon formation yields a higher image definition.
