Abstract

Injection moulding machine n which the ends of the tie bars which guide and constrain the moving platen end in threaded portions having the same overall section as the rest of the bar. A flanged or pref. taper-skirted collar is screwed onto the threaded tie bar ends and the collar is held by clamping bolts to the machine frame to withstand the locking stresses. Less prone to failure under stress than bars with integral section changes to provide a clamping face overlap with the main machine frame.
