Abstract

The source holder is arranged along the centre line of two cylindrical shields, one stationary and the other movable against the force of a spring. The source is shielded when closed and is situated halfway between the joint faces when open. The movable shield can be subdivided into sectors, each of which can be selected for movement, if not all-round but a directional action is required.
