Abstract

The title cpds., opt. substd. on the phenyl group with one or two halogens or alkyl group, and on the pyridyl group with N-oxide, are useful as hypotensive and spasmolytic agents. They are prepd. by treating a pyridyl-4-yl phenyl ketone with aminoguanidine in ethanolic soln., and finally oxidising if required, to give the N-oxide.
