Herbicidal compn. contng. a mixt of:- (1) 1 or more cpds. X = halogen R = - C=N , -CS.NH2 or -CS.NHCH2OH espec. 2, 6-dichloro-benzonitrile, -thiobenzamide and hydroxymethylthiobenzamide. (2) 1 or more halogenated aliphatic carboxylic acids contng. is not > 4C or their salts, espec. 2, 2-dichloropropionic acid or trichloracetic acid. (3) 1 or more triazines X = Cl, Br, lower alkyl/alkenyl linked by O or S R1 = lower alkyl/alkenyl/alkoxyalkyl R2,3 = H, lower alkyl/alkenyl R4 = lower alkoxyalkyl espec. 2-chloro-4, 6-di(ethylamino)-, 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-i-propylamino-s-triazine, and/or (4) a halophenoxyalkylcarboxylic acid, ester or salt, espec. a 2, 4, 5-trichlorophenoxyalkanecarboxylic acid. As a total herbicide, esp. for deeply rooted weeds. Partic. against Agropyron repens and Triticum repens.
