Abstract

Probe has detectors which produce electric pulses corresponding to detected gamma rays. The probe is connected to a measuring station by a transmission cable. In the probe is produced, from each pulse, a long rectangular waveform whose height is a function of the pulse amplitude. The waveform is transmitted along the cable, and its height is measured at the station during a sampling time in which the height stays constant, in a part of the waveform unaffected by transmission along the cable. Apparatus and block diagrams are described.
