Abstract

Inoculation mixture is particularly suited for use with iron sponge to which it is added in powder form to form the mixture into a solid body. The inoculation mixture consists of a compressed mixture of sponge iron particles and inoculation particles. Pref. the inoculation mixture is composed of 90% spongy iron particles, 10% ferrosilicon and 1% inoculation agent.
