Abstract

Table feeds a bulk sheet of product towards a drive which opens between a fixed lower blade and an upper knife which moves up and down. The feed and drive move in jerks synchronised with the blade movements. The drive has a transverse steel shaft, on which are piled up rings of a flexible material, whose periphery is tangential to the transverse exit crest of a fixed trough under the shaft. The fixed blade is integral with the trough immediately downstream of the tangent point of the lining rings while elastic devices at the shaft ends urge it towards the fixed trough. Specifically the flexible rings are of rubber or plastics.
