Abstract
Electrode has an electro-catalyst in the form of fire particles combined to form a porous cohesive structure with a first main surface, which acts as reagent surface, and a second main surface, which acts as electrolyte surface, while a hydrophobic material is intimately mixed with the electrocatalyst, and is mainly situated on the electrolyte surface of the electrode. The first main surface of the electrode comes into contact with a liquid or gaseous reagent, and the second, opposite main surface comes into contact with electrolyte. The electrode has an electronically conducting carrier with a number of openings extending through its thickness between the two main surfaces.
