Abstract

Thermoplastic mixtures are obtained by intensively mixing powdered polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with the reactants which are needed for the formation of a polyurethane; the components are mixed at below the temperature at which reaction starts. The mixture is then gradually converted, by heating, to a thermoplastic polyurethane containing PVC, and this may be finally granulated.Very intimate mixing is achieved.The products can be moulded to sheets, films, hoses, shoes, boots, cable jackets, couplings, etc
