Abstract

An interlocking plastic or metal panel or tile (1), particularly for use in the construction of false ceilings, which consists essentially of a heat-formed tray, having on two adjacent sides an extended flat rim, (3) and (4), with narrow rim (5) (6) on the remaining sides. Centering bosses (8) and corresponding recesses (9) are provided on one pair of opposite sides having a wide and narrow rim respectively, and arranged below the rim so that they are concealed when the panels are fitted. The pan els may be fitted to the supporting framework by suitable staples (10) or other fixing, passing through the wide rim (3) and therefore concealed after the panels have been fitted. No centering template is necessary and the methods of fixing to the support frame and of interlocking ensures that the fixing means are concealed.
