Abstract

The process comprises either (a) successively displacing the drums along a principal common track to an initial transfer point or number of such points along the track, using a storage track from the initial transfer point to a second transfer point or number of such points associated with a second common track which feeds the utilisation points; the reels successively leave the principal common track at any chosen initial transfer point, are displaced along the storage track associated with the chosen point and are stored there, or (b) the reel is brought to an arbitrarily chosen storage track, leaves the truck at its associated second transfer point, and is displaced along the common secondary transfer track to one of the utilisation points.
