Abstract

Fungicidal agent based on Mn-ethylene-bisdithiocarbamate (Maneb) (I) Addn. of 0.5-5% finely divided metallic Zn, Fe or Cu, or a heavy metal salt MY, which is insol. or sol. with difficulty in water, stabilizes I, diminishes its tendency to decomposed and reduces its phytotoxicity. In the salt MY, M = Zn, Pb, Fe, Cu, Co, Sn, or Ni and Y = an organic or inorganic anion; M possesses a lower affinity for Y than for S. The water solubility of MY at room temp. should be 0.1 mol. %, pref. 0.05 mol. %. The heavy metal cpd. should have a higher solubility product in water at room temp. than the corresponding metal sulphide. The Zn content of the fungicide mixture is pref. 1% of the wt. of I and that of Cu or Fe or heavy metal salt 2-4% of the wt. of I.
