Abstract

Biaxially oriented film is formed from a compsn. contg. (I) 70-95% wt. crystalline alpha-olefin, and (II) 5-30% wt. terpene polymer, a hydrogenated hydrocarbon polymer, and/or a rosin derivative, and is characterised by having a Gardner turbidity (wide angle) of less than 5%, a 45 deg. reflection gloss of higher than 70, and by being capable of forming a twist packing maintaining a twist of at least 0,5 pref. at least 0.75. The film pref. has an elongation at break in a transverse direction of at least 100%. The film may also contain (III) 0.01-0.5% wt. of a cpd. of formula III, and (IV) 1.0-4.0% wt. glyceride. The film pref. has a surface resistance of not more than 5 x 10" ohms. R = a 12-22C monovalent aliphatic group; and (x + y) = 2-5.
