Abstract

Tyre has a carcass, an elastomer tread, and a reinforcement which is wholly embedded in the elastomer material of the shoulder of the tread, besides being optionally embedded in the rest of the tread. The tyre construction gives shoulders of increased strength, with high resistance to breaking. The construction is especially useful for tyres for aircraft, and for tyres for earth-shifting machines, which are occasionally used on roads.
