Abstract

The invention concerns a method for measuring the quality of a radio link in a radio packet data connection in a cellular radio system for telecommunication. According to the invention, the mobile telephone measures the level at reception of data blocks in the downlink control channel, wherein the data block contains control information addressed to the mobile telephone, and reports the measured data to the network. Based on the measured data, the network monitors the transmission power for the packet being sent at the downlink control channel so that all mobile telephones for which the packet contains information can successfully decode the packet. <IMAGE>
