Abstract

The invention concerns increasing the thermal energy content, the dryness and the temperature of the steam developed by a sauna stove outfitted with a stone heap by developing wet steam in the lower part of the stone heap either by adding to the stone heap arrangements 2 for collecting the water which is poured onto the stone heap and to lead it into bypass pipes 1, which take the water into water spraying pipes 4, provided with holes 5, located under the stone heap, which spray the water over an extensive area above the lower part of the stone heap and drip the water into the lower part 13 of the stone heap, where the water is evaporated, or by supplying the water from sources outside the steam stove 11 directly into the lower part 13 of the stone heap, where the water is evaporated, or by forming an empty space 15 under the stone heap which is open only toward the stone heap and in which space is blown steam 14 produced outside of the sauna stove. Both the steam developed in the lower part and the steam blown in under the stone heap rises through the hot stone heap, taking up a large quantity of thermal energy from the hot stones, whereupon the dried and superheated steam flows out from the stove in the form of a sauna bath. <IMAGE>
