Abstract

Method for monitoring the combustion chamber 20a of a vaporising oil burner 10, according to which the temperature of a glow plug 17 is measured by means of a temperature measuring circuit 24. The combustion of fuel in the vaporising oil burner is monitored and the fuel supply is controlled on the basis of the measuring result, the glow plug functioning as automatic flame guard. The measurement of the glow plug temperature may also be used to control the combustion air fan 13, the glow plug functioning as control device for after- cooling. The temperature of the glow plug is measured by measuring the thermal stress in the glow plug thermocouple, composed of various metals 30, 31, 32, 42, 43, or the resistance value of the glow plug. <IMAGE>
