Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the separation of hazardous substances from a waste gas flow, by leading it through a granular absorption bulk material. The bulk material is composed of a mixture of a granular substance with a high carbon content and a granular inert substance. The powder density of the inert substance is 0.8 - 3 times the power density of the substance with a high carbon content. The substance with a high carbon content advantageously accounts for 5 - 80 percent by mass of the bulk material. The substance with a high carbon content may be activated charcoal, activated coke or lignite coke, for example. The inert substance may be silica refractory material, pumice stone, lava, clinker, vitrification residues or gravel, for example.
