Abstract
The invention relates to a benzazepine compound of the formula II <IMAGE> in which R<1>, R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are, independently, hydrogen, (1-3C)perfluoroalkyl, halogen, nitro or cyano, and R<5> is a (1-5C)alkyl group; with the proviso that R<2> and R<3> have not each (independently) been selected from the group which comprises hydrogen and halogen when R<1> and R<4> are hydrogen. This compound can be used as an intermediate for preparing certain therapeutically active benzazepine compounds.
