Abstract
The invention relates to a so-called swirling mass dryer which is based on indirect heat transfer. The dryer consists of a bottom situated swirling part 1, a recuperative heat exchanger 2, and a top situated separation part 3. The heat exchanger is built as a single-way tube heat exchanger, in the mantle of which a heat-dissipating medium is flowing, such as steam, and drying gas and the material to be dried is flowing in the vertical tubes 4 of the heat exchanger. The tubes 4 connect a swirling chamber 11 with the chamber 5 of the separation part, which is in communication with a separation chamber 7 through flow channels 6. The gases are removed from the chamber 7 through a tube 9, and suspended matter from the separator is carried back though a funnel 8 and a tube 10 into the swirling chamber 11. The swirling part comprises an orifice bottom, studs for supply of drying gas and material to be dried, as well as for removing coarse material. <IMAGE>
