Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for automatic measurement of the quality of a colour picture. The quality is evaluated by means of univariant quality parameters and, on the basis of these, the quality measure of the picture or the carrying capacity of the information contained in the picture is determined. The system can advantageously be realized with an ASIC, signal processor or equivalent suitable for the purpose. With the aid of the invention, those pictures in need of correction can be clarified in the automatic image correction and, for example, the print quality examined without a test picture.
