Abstract

The invention concerns a method for regulating the frequency response for sound reproduction, where the sound signal is processed at least partly in a sound reproduction device and is converted to audible sound. The method comprises at least the following stages: a) the frequency range within which the regulation of the frequency response is to be carried out is divided into partial ranges, and within each partial range a frequency is selected which is used for the regulation of the frequency response, b) a reference level is selected, against which the strength is compared of sound produced by the adjustable frequency in each individual case, c) one of the frequencies selected in stage a) is selected, d) a sound signal is generated corresponding to the selected frequency, which sound signal is taken into the sound reproduction device in order to create audible sound, e) the strength of the sound generated is compared with the reference level, f) if the strength of the sound is less than the reference level, the strength of the sound signal is increased, g) if the strength of the sound is greater than the reference level, the strength of the sound signal is decreased, h) the stages e), f), g) are repeated until the strength of the sound is essentially the same as the reference level, i) one of the frequencies not so far selected in stage a) is selected, and j) the stages d) to i) are repeated until the regulation has been carried out of the frequency response for all the frequencies selected in stage a). <IMAGE>
