Abstract

The invention concerns a procedure and arrangement for strip casting of products with approximate end measure suitable for further cold treatment, which castings are of non-ferrous metals including, in particular, strip, rods or piping of copper or copper alloys. The procedure comprises the following stages: a) the charge is cast continuously in a vertical mould; b) the solidified metal strip is removed, centrally controlled, and conveyed directly into an external processing machine; c) the cast metal surface is reduced; d) the surface-ready cast metal is separated crosswise and in a pre-determined manner; and e) the dimensionally correct castings are finally removed from the plant. For carrying out the procedure, the arrangement includes a base frame 21 connected to a foundation 51, which frame supports have, one after the other, a removal device 22, an external processing device 23, a crosswise-separation device 24 and a transport device 25 or 41. <IMAGE>
