Abstract

The present invention deals with a method for separation of sodium carbonate from green liquor in connection with a chemical recovery process at the pulp factory. Sodium carbonate is crystallised out from the green liquor and the thus obtained sodium carbonate crystals are recycled and wetted in a filter. At least a portion of the liquid used for wetting of the sodium carbonate crystals is constituted of green liquor. During the separation and wetting, the filtrate is recycled as two fractions, the first of which, the undiluted fraction, is separated from the crystallisation process in its entirety or partially as a solution containing abundant sodium sulphide, and the second, the fraction containing the wetting liquid for the crystals, is taken on to the crystallisation process. <IMAGE>
