Abstract

The invention relates to a process for measuring the biodegradation of a sample, with a sample being placed in a culture solution, the solution being aerated, the quantity of carbon dioxide which is released from the solution being measured, and the biodegradation being determined on the basis of the quantity of carbon dioxide released. The carbon dioxide which is formed in accordance with the invention is conducted into a KOH- basic solution, the electrical conductivity of the solution is measured, and the quantity of carbon dioxide which has been absorbed in the solution is determined on the basis of the electrical conductivity.
