Abstract

A method and an apparatus for on-line flow extraction of extractable components, such as dissolved substances and colloidal particles, in liquids. The invention refers to a method including following consecutive steps: (a) providing in an extraction tube (12) a flow of a first liquid including the extractable components; (b) introducing into the extraction tube through an inlet tube (14) a second liquid mainly immiscible with the first liquid; for extracting extractable components from the first liquid; and (c) separating the second liquid from the combined flow of said first and said second liquids. The invention is characterized by the second liquid being injected into the extraction tube as a high velocity jet stream through narrow inlet passages (44).
