The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of an insulating element, the method being suitable for a continuous insulating element production process. One product that has been manufactured by this method is an insulating element, both outer surfaces of which are coated and profiled, and inner part of which is filled with insulating material. In a process according to the production method, the outer layer 1 and the profiled supporting layer 2 enter the production line through profile rollers 4 and adhesive rollers 5 and are bonded together. After bonding the insulating material in this same process is fed by means of the pressure from the open ends inside the insulating element 7. Insulating fibre pulp, which has been manufactured from paper or cardboard waste by tearing or grinding is used as insulating material. Any mechanically or chemically produced organic fibre pulp can also be used as insulating material, mineral rock wool and glass being furthermore suitable for use as insulating material. Additives such as glue and additives that enhance the intended application, such as fire-proofing chemicals, are added to the insulating material.
