Device for receiving and/or for winding a cable reel, with a gantry-like movable frame (1), on which are held two supporting arms (2) provided with engagement elements (14) for receiving the cable reel (15) and each adjustable in height via a lifting unit (3,5a,5b), each lifting unit (3,5a,5b) being arranged pendulously on the frame (1), the supporting arm (2) itself being suspended resiliently in a preselectable position, by means of spring elements (7,8), on the lifting unit (5b) assigned to it. <IMAGE>
