Abstract

The invention concerns a method for smelting of waste plaster and ferrous material in a flame smelting furnace in which the recovered product is a sparingly soluble slag suitable for further use or for storage, and a gas containing sulphur dioxide whose content is optimal for recovering the sulphur as elementary sulphur, as sulphur dioxide in liquid form or as sulphuric acid.
