Abstract

The invention relates to a device for regulating and/or measuring a liquid medium by utilizing in the regulator device, for restriction of the flow, its own pressure differential arising across the device, which regulator device is advantageously constituted by a cylindrical chamber, which is delimited by a fixedly mounted base, a combined piston and main valve head, joined to the said base by a sealing member and allowing a motion in the longitudinal direction, the casing of the spring housing and an end rim, and which chamber is joined by an inlet opening d1 to the high-pressure and by an outlet opening d2 to the low-pressure side. The regulator device additionally incorporates a spindle, a control cone, a linear bearing, and a bearing housing. The control cone changes the surface relationship of the openings d1, d2 such that the inner pressure of the chamber 52 corresponds to the necessary force equilibrium at each instant and each pressure differential. The device is characterized in that the spindle is fixed and the bearing with its housing is moved along it fixed to the combined piston and main valve head, so that the centre of gravity of the latter is always on the inner side of the ball race of the bearing, the control cone is precisely centralized in the outlet opening d2 and the spring can be placed on the outside of the bearing housing. To the regulator member can be joined an external control system using, for example, mechanical, gravitational or magnetic force and, where necessary, an electronic control system for the regulation and/or measurement. <IMAGE>
