Abstract

The present invention concerns a method for treatment of chlorine-containing material, like waste, biosludge and also metal concentrates advantageously in a reactor with a circulating fluidized bed 1 at high temperature above 830 degrees Celsius and for cooling of the formed process gases to minimize the amount of aromatic polyhalogenated compounds in the formed process gases. The process gases are cooled to a temperature below 250 degrees Celsius with a cooling rate of over 1000 degrees Celsius per second. Cooling is advantageously carried out in a reactor with a circulating fluidized bed 2. <IMAGE>
