Abstract

A radio apparatus having a transceiver, an associated apparatus antenna and switching devices for the optional connection of an external antenna. It is intended to specify a simple solution, which is reliable in technical radio terms, for interruption-free antenna changeover switching for such an, especially portable, radio apparatus. For the antenna changeover switching, the apparatus antenna (2) is connected to the transceiver via a semiconductor switch (5) and the antenna connection (3) for the external antenna is connected to the transceiver via a radio-frequency line. When the external antenna is plugged into the antenna socket (3), the semiconductor switch (5) switches off and the transceiver is connected through to the external antenna, which has a low DC resistance. <IMAGE>
